FAQs
How do I know I need training?
It is a simple question with a complex answer. The need for a trainer or coach may come from many places. We often need help, but the type of help we need may not be clear. If you or a loved one have been struggling with losing weight or building muscle, you are a great candidate for training.
how long will it take me to lose weight?
It could take 10 years to lose 10lbs. It could take 3months or less to lose 10lbs. The level of dedication, focus, and attention to detail is different for everyone. I enjoy helping my clients find the habits that create impactful change for a lifetime. This way we can prepare & adjust for obstacles along the journey of life. Get started today!
How many calories should i eat to lose weight or gain muscle?
Another simple question with a complex answer. There is a number of calories humans burn doing nothing, this is our Basal Metabolic Rate. As we move throughout the day, we expend more calories. To build muscle we need to be in a calorie surplus. To lose weight we need to maintain a calorie deficit. Proper eating is key for either goal.
Do I have to maintain my best form for every rep?
Short answer- Yes. In an effort to limit injury potential and increase strength gain potential maintaining structural integrity of the lifting position, throughout the entire set, is best. Maintaining the optimal lifting position forces muscular contractions over the entire body. That is to say we have an opportunity to increase our strength with EVERY repetition.
